Our Misssion Statement...

is to ensure that the education of our communities include
technology and the applications of it. Our goal is to provide a unified
voice, community advocacy and leadership and to increase those
studying, working and utilizing technology from the communities we
serve/operate in.

Our Platform

Adopted on Dec 11, 2004, at Legler Branch Library Historical - First Official Board of Directors Meeting

There has always been a gap between those people and communities who
can make effective use of information technology and those who cannot.
Now, more than ever, unequal adoption of technology excludes many from
reaping the fruits of the economy. We use the term "digital divide" to
refer to this gap between those who can effectively use new information
and communication tools, such as the Internet, and those who cannot.
While a consensus does not exist on the extent of the divide (and
whether the divide is growing or narrowing), researchers are nearly
unanimous in acknowledging that some sort of divide exists at this
point in time.

The Digital Development Corporation And Oversight Committee,
consisting of grass-root community organizations, businesses,
educators, technology professionals and individuals will work to
address four issues that are essential to closing the gap that exist.
They are:

* Access * Education * Diversity * Careers

It is our intention to evaluate the current methodologies of:

Our City

Our State

Our Schools / System

Community Technology Centers (CTC's)

Any organization that is offering to address the digital divide
after a Community evaluation has been performed / conducted it is the
hope of this group to present the findings with solutions and
suggestions to the proper authority. We will seek to develop programs
that will augment the current programs that are in place and create
digital incubators to identify new approaches to the problem.
