Call for Presenters!
We encourage and invite professionals and organizations to submit proposals for papers or reports for promotional distribution, presentations, and workshops, at the 2008 Westside Communities Development Town Hall Meeting, Expo, & Conference. Presentations on theory and practice are welcomed. Poster presentations are especially invited, but 15-minute talks and 30-60 minute mini-workshops will also be scheduled.
This year’s theme will be "Advanced Manufacturing Technologies" its impact in industry, on and in our communities, and it's local and regional economic development potentiality, in light of the efforts of local development agencies focused on preparation of a highly educated, competent workforce, and how this and arising opportunities can be successfully integrated into our neighborhoods, thru various channels, including education, community technology centers, social service organizations, churches, and schools, ultimately addressing our programming range, and mission goals, of Bridging the Technology/Digital Divide.
Proposals will be peer-reviewed, and will include a brief one page survey of which collection and subsequent compilation, results will be available in a community briefing book. Electronic submission is preferred. Our first preference is that you email the document as a Microsoft Word file attachment to tdw_2001@yahoo.com. If you cannot send attachments, you may submit in the body of the email. Otherwise, please submit hard copy proposals to:

Proposals must contain on a single page
- Title of the paper/presentation/workshop or workshop
- Author(s) names, departments, professional/personal mailing and email addresses, telephone numbers, etc.. with presenting author(s) underlined and corresponding author marked with an asterisk
- Preferred paper/presentation/workshop, type/length
- An Abstract
- Please provide separately media equipment requests and any special needs you may have.
- Proposals are due Oct. 15, 2008
